I'm Nicole, a mother and the face behind Wooden World.

I founded Wooden World in 2016 when I became a mum and was looking for quality, educational toys that foster play, creativity and imagination for my own child.

Like every other parent I wanted to give my child the best start in life and I can't think of any better way to do this than through open-ended and child-led play. Today's society puts so much pressure on children to learn to read and write at an early age that the importance of play has been compromised for academic excellence. Children don’t play to learn, children learn because they play.

Wooden toys inspire creative and imaginative play in children which is important for cognitive brain development as well as social and emotional development. Studies have shown that play with educational toys and instruments in early childhood can have a significant impact on the areas of the brain that control language and cognition in teen and adult years.

Wooden toys encourage imagination, role play, social interaction, language development, communication, reasoning and problem solving skills, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Young children are also sensory learners and wooden toys encourage multi-sensory learning on every level.

All toys in our range comply with European and/or Australian standards and use non-toxic colours and/or stains.

Have a browse and immerse yourself into the wonderful world of play.
